Galveston Halloween Bucket List

Halloween Bucket List, Halloween entertainment, Galveston, Ghost Bus Tours, Trick-or-Treating

Every holiday season comes with its own set of traditions and excitement. October is here, with all of its tricks and treats. To avoid missing out on all of Galveston’s Halloween entertainment, it’s crucial to make a Halloween bucket list. No matter your age, Halloween is a holiday that locals and visitors alike look forward to every year. To ensure a successful getaway, Moody Gardens Hotel’s staff put together a Halloween bucket list full of our favorite activities.

Fright Night

Embrace the Halloween season right here at Moody Gardens Hotel! For roughly $20 per guest, you can enjoy a movie at Fright Night Film Fest, entry to “Happy Family 4D” in the Special 4X Theater, entrance to the Reef Rescue VR Experience, and entry into the Rainforest of Terror.

Ghostly Gardens Film Fest

As mentioned above, Moody Gardens hosts a Film Fest that features spooky movies. The evening starts with friendly, Halloween films and progresses into straight-up horrifying movies later in the night. Please keep in mind, if you are under 18-years-old, you must be accompanied by an adult or guardian for the R-rated movies. There will be on-site concessions selling Halloween-themed drinks. Check out our movie schedule

Trick-or-Treating

Although there are countless areas to go trick-or-treating in Galveston, sometimes it can be easier to stay on-site if you have little children. Moody Gardens Hotel is hosting our own trick-or-treating event at many of our properties. During the trick-or-treating event, certain spots offer crafts and other forms of Halloween entertainment. After registering for the event, be sure to sign up for the costume contest! The contests are separated into categories based on the participants’ ages.

Ghost Bus Tours

All aboard the Galveston Ghost Bus! Your knowledgeable guide, Jim, will take you and your loved ones around Galveston for a once in a lifetime experience. During your ride, you’ll hear first-hand ghost encounters and paranormal activity stories from the witnesses themselves. You’ll also get a taste of Galveston’s haunted history. The Ghost Bus Tours run regularly, so view the calendar to pick a date that works best with your getaway plans.

Galveston Graveyard Tour

The Galveston Graveyard Tour is not for the scaredy cats out there. This hair-raising excursion guides guests through some of the oldest cemeteries in Galveston. Along the way, you’ll learn about the cemeteries’ history, ancient burial practices, and the stories of people buried there. Some notable people are buried in the cemeteries!

Moody Gardens Hotel and Spa

Our Halloween bucket list has everything that you need to have a fun-filled October. You simply won’t find these activities anywhere else than Galveston. Have your best Halloween yet by staying at Moody Gardens Hotel and Spa. To learn more information, visit our website or talk to our friendly staff at 409-741-8484.

MOODY GARDENS SAYS THANK YOU TO GALVESTON ISLAND OCT. 20
Galveston residents, workers receive free day admission on annual Appreciation Day

Galveston, Texas (September 17, 2019) – Journey beneath the waves inside the Aquarium Pyramid, trek through the rainforests of the world, and learn all about the bones of the body – plus so much more – at this year’s Galveston Appreciation Day.

Galveston residents and workers will be treated to a one-of-a-kind experience at one of the top tourist destinations in the region when Moody Gardens hosts this annual event on Oct. 20 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Guests who live or work on Galveston Island – along with their immediate family – will receive free admission to the Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid, Discovery Museum, MG 3D Theater, 4D Special FX Theater and the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat.

Shearn’s Seafood and Prime Steaks will also be offering Galveston residents free mimosas during their Sunday brunch meal, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The restaurant is located on the 9th floor of Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center.

“Galveston Island has a great community spirit, and it is our residents and employees who work here who make it so very special,” said Moody Gardens President and CEO John Zendt. “Being able to give the Galveston community a day to enjoy Moody Gardens on us allows us to truly express our gratitude.”

Guests must show proof of island residency or employment with a driver’s license or state identification card, utility bill, paycheck stub or work identification badge to be eligible for the Galveston Appreciation Day offer.

Moody Gardens will give away more than 2,000 Oleanders and Palm Trees to island residents as part of a beautification project. Visit www.moodygardens.com/calendar/galvestonday by Oct. 19 to receive a voucher for the Oleander or Palm Tree. It can be redeemed at the front of the Visitor Center on Galveston Appreciation Day 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
