Every Thursday at Festival of Lights is Food Drive Thursdays. Food Drive Thursdays offer the opportunity to enjoy the Festival of Lights and get a special discount to help those in need this holiday season. Want to see what winter feels like in other parts of the country? Visit Ice Land Ice Sculptures and see 2 million pounds of ice transformed into majestic marvels. The 30 feet tall sculptures are housed in our insulated tent and kept at 9 degrees. Don’t worry, all guests will receive parkas to keep warm. Black Friday Takes Over The Moody Gardens Convention Center

Black Friday is synonymous with holiday shopping. This November 27 and 28, come out to the Moody Gardens Convention Center and browse more than 150 unique gift vendors. Shop clothing, home decor, jewelry and more. The Home for the Holidays Gift Market hours are 12pm-8pm on November 27 and 10am-8pm on November 28. General admission is $6 per person. When guests purchase one admission, they will get one free. All teachers will receive free admission when they present their school employment identification badge. Those with a Festival of Lights ticket will receive free admission into the gift market. Guests with a Home for the Holidays Gift Market ticket will get admission into the Festival of Lights for $5.95.

Let Us Do The Cooking This Thanksgiving

Give thanks on Thanksgiving Day and enjoy a bountiful feast with family and friends as Moody Gardens Hotel hosts its annual Thanksgiving Day Buffet prepared by Executive Chef Robbin Murphy.

On November 26, the buffet will be held in the magnificent Frances Anne Moody Ballroom from 11am- 3pm. The mouthwatering menu prepared by Chef Murphy highlights classic favorites and specialties guaranteed to satisfy all appetites. The menu will feature a delightful selection of offerings such as roasted Tom Turkey with Pan an Jus and Giblet Gravy, dressing, glazed ham, harvest salad, candied sweet potatoes, braised brisket, roasted butternut squash, freshly baked breads and an assortment of homemade desserts such as pumpkin, chocolate and coconut cream pies. Complimentary Bloody Marys and mimosas will also be available.

Ho Ho Ho! The Holidays Have Arrived At Moody Gardens!

We are days away from the start of the holidays and the excitement is building throughout Moody Gardens. During the holiday season, come see why Moody Gardens is the top destination to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas.

On November 14, come help kick off the holiday season with the grand opening of Festival of Lights. Throughout the day, live music and dance troupes will keep crowds entertained. This event is capped off with Santa Claus parachuting in from above (weather permitting) to flip the switch, illuminating more than 1 million Christmas lights. Admission is $10.95. Other attractions (Rainforest, Discovery and Aquarium) are just $7 each with your festival ticket. Festival of Lights runs November 14- January 10.

Also opening on November 14, is Ice Land Ice Sculptures. A skilled team of professional ice carvers will take 900 tons of ice and transform them into majestic marvels. Admission is $26.95 for adults, $21.95 for seniors and $15.95 for children. Special prices are available for groups of 20 or more. Ice Land Ice Sculptures run November 14-January 10.

In December, enjoy A Magical Christmas 2015 Dinner and Show. Master Illusionist Curt Miller and his talented friends will put on a phenomenal production with new music, magic and fun. Celebrate the Fall and Welcome Winter at Moody Gardens!

Moody Gardens is the perfect place to indulge in shrieks and treats and bask in the warm glow of holiday lights. With so much planned in October, November and December, guests will have a plethora of events to choose from during the holiday months.

On October 25, bring the ghosts and zombies to Ghostly Gardens. The spooktacular event offers costume contests, creepy crafts and trick-or-treating stands at various locations across the property.

On November 14, Festival of Lights kicks off the holiday season on the island with Santa parachuting into Moody Gardens. Go snow tubing on the Arctic Ice Slide or take a walk through the winter wonderland and see more than one million lights brightening up holiday spirits.

ICE LAND also opens on November 14. See more than 2 million pounds of ice carved and colored to celebrate the holidays. Admission to the exhibition is $26.95 for adults, $21.95 for seniors and $15.95 for children.

Get Crafty with Brews, Suds and Sun at Moody Gardens Hotel this Labor Day Weekend!

Make plans now to attend the 6th Annual BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival. The festival, tapped as a fan-favorite by ThrillList, also remains a favorite of the industry where brewers regularly unveil never before tasted brews. Join fellow craft beer lovers and supporters as they gather Labor Day weekend to celebrate and sample more than 400 specialty and hard-to-find brews. This foamtastic celebration takes place at Moody Gardens Friday, September 4 through Sunday September 6, 2015.

The three-day celebration will showcase two signature events: BrewHaHa Grand Tasting and BrewLicious Brews and Foods Pairing. There are a host of related events like the BrewMasters PubCrawl and Texas Brewery Tasting Tour. Featured activities include: Beach, Brews and Bands live musical performances and fireworks, educational events, a slew of Brew Brains and industry experts, including award-winning BrewMasters and home brewing masters.

Festivities begin on Friday, September 4 with the BrewMasters Pub Crawl at 8 p.m. Hop on board this festive party bus departing from Moody Gardens with a tour to some of Galveston’s trendiest bars. Meet featured Brew Brains at each stop. Tickets are $25 in advance.

If you are Texas beer fan, and who isn’t, make your first stop of the day on Saturday, September 5, at the Texas Brewery Tasting Tour. You’ll have a rare opportunity to take a tasting tour in a small group and intimate environment to enjoy featured Texas brewed selections. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and always sell out.

Then it’s time for the grand tasting.  Saturday, September 5, sample some of the best brews in the world made available to beer lovers at the BrewHaHa Grand Tasting held in the Moody Gardens Convention Center. The Grand Tasting will feature over 400 craft and specialty brews as well as a Wine Escape with wine samplings. Admission to BrewHaHa is $35 in advance, $40 at the door, $85 for a VIP ticket, or choose a multi-event Hopper Pass. The BrewHaHa Grand Tasting will run from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and includes access to multiple beer seminars for all who take pride in their beer and want to expand their knowledge of craft beers.

Thirsty for more? This year Brewlicious Brews & Foods Pairing moves to Sunday to give foodies time to get to the island. This spectacular event, where everyone is a VIP, is for the serious beer and culinary enthusiast. Every featured beer will be paired with food with a focus on high-end, premium, unique beer paired with just the perfect culinary accompaniment. BrewLicious Brews and Foods will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $75.

What would Labor Day be without a concert on the beach? On Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. get ready to have some fun in the sun as Moody Gardens rolls out a beach blast.  Beach, Brews & Bands features live music in the sand followed by fireworks at Palm Beach.  Tickets are $12 at the gate.  $6 online as an add-on to any BrewMasters ticket purchase. Or $6 at the gate with a BrewMasters wrist band or ticket receipt.  Tickets include all activities at Palm Beach plus the concert and fireworks. Admission to Palm Beach is included in your hotel stay.

Driving responsibly is always a must so all BrewMasters events also have a designated driver ticket.  Designated drivers cannot sample any beer.
