Beat the heat with a chance to win your way into the Gulf Coast’s most enchanting holiday destination

Galveston, Texas (July 3, 2019) – Christmas has come early to Moody Gardens. Come celebrate all month long with exciting chances to win tickets to come back for the holiday season.

On Saturday, July 6 guests are invited to test endurance with the Ice Block Challenge. Compete against family and friends to see who can stay seated on a seat made completely out of ice the closest to five minutes. The winner of each competition will receive an Evening Pass to all of Moody Gardens’ holiday attractions.

On Sunday, July 7 Moody Gardens will be having a flash sale offering guests $5 off the purchase of an Evening Pass to all Moody Gardens holiday attractions. The Evening Pass offers guests entry into the Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids, MG 3D and 4D Special FX Theaters, Arctic Slide, Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, Skate Rental, ICE LAND, Festival of Lights, Ropes Course and Zip Line after 3 p.m.

Also, every Saturday throughout the month of July from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Moody Gardens will be inviting guests to dive in with the Polar Plunge and have an icy cold plummet in a dunk tank. A photo booth will also be set up with props featuring some of the iconic landmarks from around the globe that will be featured in this year’s brand new ICE LAND theme, Christmas Around the World. Frosty treats will also be available to help guests beat the heat.

Thursdays in July will be designated as Food Drive Thursdays. Guests who bring a non-perishable food item to Moody Gardens will receive two-for-one admission to the MG 3D Theater. The summer food drive observes the holiday spirit of giving. The food drive program benefits the Galveston County Food Bank.

ICE LAND: Christmas Around the World opens Nov. 16, 2019-Jan. 12, 2020 and is just one of eight holiday attractions, all offered at Moody Gardens as a part of the newly-named Holiday in the Gardens season-long event. Other holiday attractions include Festival of Lights, Cirque Joyeux Dinner & Show, Rudolph 4D, 3D films, ice skating, an Arctic Slide, and train rides, plus live entertainment and great food.

Go behind the scenes of ICE LAND: Christmas Around the World with the Ice Carver VIP Experience. This exclusive tour gives guests a chance to see the artists at work as they create these magnificent, towering ice sculptures, resulting in a truly enchanting holiday experience.

    • Film screening of “A Plastic Ocean” in the MG 3D Theater. The film explores the challenges our oceans face with plastics that end up there. Details
Coming up the evening of July 4, Galveston Island will celebrate its annual Independence Day with a parade featuring a procession of floats, decorated military vehicles and performers. The parade will kick off at 7 p.m. with a procession on Seawall Boulevard starting at 59th Street and ending at 25th Street.  After the parade, the island will host a 20-minute fireworks show over the Gulf of Mexico at 9:15 p.m. near 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard.

A community collaboration works each year to create The Galveston Marine Corp League Fourth of July Parade. The Marine Corp League, the City of Galveston and community volunteers who create this parade appreciate your support and participation.

MOODY GARDENS PALM BEACH OFFERS AN ISLAND SPLASH OF FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Guests can enjoy pristine white sand, lazy river, tower slides, live music with fireworks and more

GALVESTON, Texas (April 22, 2019) – Moody Gardens Palm Beach will offer some new entertainment and traditional favorites as this popular private beach attraction opens for the summer May 18.

Guests are invited to relax their toes in white sand, recline beneath palm trees and splash amongst a variety of beach attractions including a 650-foot lazy river, wave pool and two 18-foot tower slides. Visitors can even enjoy live bands and fireworks on weekends starting June 7.

Other attractions at this venue include the Aquarium Adventure play area and Splashpad automated aquatic water feature with interactive dump buckets, spray arches and more.

Palm Beach will be open weekends starting May 18, including Memorial Day. The attraction opens daily June 1 – Aug. 18. As the summer season winds down, Palm Beach will be open weekends only Aug. 24-Labor Day on Sept. 2. Admission is $24.95 for adults, $19.95 for children and seniors, or $65 for a season pass. Children age 3 and younger get in free.

And, be sure to come out for Bands on the Sand, June 7 – Aug. 10. Enjoy this summer music series Friday and Saturday nights from 6-10 p.m. Each show features local and regional variety, rock, country and blues bands. Admission is $15 and children age 3 and younger get in for free. Each performance ends with a fireworks display over Offats Bayou, overlooking the Moody Gardens pyramids.
